Big Hit Music, the agency of BTS, posted a notice regarding the military life of BTS member Jin (real name Kim Seok Jin).
On Jan 5th, BTS‘s agency Big Hit Music said on Weverse, “Thanks to the warm consideration and support of fans in December last year, Jin joined the military and is diligently receiving training as a new recruit. We would like to thank fans for their interest and support on the day of his enlistment, as well as guide you on matters that require additional cooperation during Jin’s time of military service obligations.”
The agency explained, “The bootcamp is a space used by ordinary soldiers and a space for military training. If letters and gifts from fans are intensively delivered at once, it will be difficult to store them. There will also be a risk of the letters and gifts getting lost, so we would like fans to refrain from sending letters and gifts.”
Big Hit added, “If you would like to send a warm message to the artist, please leave a message using the hashtag ‘#Dear_Jin_from_ARMY’ on Weverse, and we will support Jin so that he can check it out himself. We ask you to refrain from sending letters and gifts even after the end of his new recruit training and he is deployed to his official battalion.“
The agency added that fans should refrain from crowding at the completion ceremony of new recruit training to prevent safety accidents.
Born in 1992, Jin, the oldest member of BTS, entered the bootcamp of the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, on December 13th last year. After five weeks of basic military training, he will be assigned to his own battalion.
Following Jin, the remaining BTS members also plan to enlist sequentially after completing their scheduled individual activities. Big Hit Music said, “We and the members hope to resume BTS’ group activity in 2025, but it is difficult to specify the exact time at this point. Some members’ individual activities are scheduled until the first half of 2023, and we will assist BTS to be with their fans through various contents prepared in advance.”
