LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam talked about her quiet personality in the past, indirectly denied rumors of being an ex-Starship trainee

Embroiled in school bullying and vulgar controversies, LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam implied the false nature of one rumor.

Recently, in an interview with Weverse Magazine, LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam expressed thoughts on her training period at Source Music (subsidiary of HYBE Labels) and her debut with LE SSERAFIM

In particular, when asked about the first time she started dreaming of becoming an idol, Garam answered: “I wanted to be a singer ever since I was in kindergarten. I was really introverted when I was little, so I was way quieter than I am now, but I could feel my personality change a bit whenever I sang and danced. I sang in a school show in kindergarten and on a karaoke machine with my family when we went to a vacation home and was outgoing and had a ton of fun instead of sitting around quietly, but only at times like those. Then my friend asked me to go to an audition together one day, and I started to actually work toward becoming a singer, beginning with that audition in 2018.”

The female idol also indirectly refuted rumors about a past training period at Starship Entertainment, saying: “Interestingly enough, SOURCE MUSIC was the first label I auditioned for. I didn’t make it in at first, but I got a casting offer two years after that. I passed after auditioning again and became a trainee for the first time.”

Previously, Kim Garam received heavy criticism from netizens over school violence allegations and photos where she was allegedly posing with vulgar images. There was also a rumor spreading around that she was a trainee at Starship Entertainment, and even made it to IVE’s debut team before being dropped.
