Lia Kim, “Getting married to the lover whom I have dated for 15 years? I’m worrying about giving birth to a disabled child” (Dr. Oh’s Golden Clinic)
Dancer Lia Kim appeared on “Dr. Oh’s Golden Clinic” and talked about her lover whom she has been dating for 15 years.
Lia Kim guested on the broadcast of Channel A’s “Dr. Oh’s Golden Clinic” on September 23rd.
On the program, the boyfriend whom Lia Kim has been dating for 15 years also appeared. He confessed, “It was when my close junior introduced us to each other. Then she suddenly put on her earphones and listened to music. When I asked, ‘Why did you do that?’, she said, ‘So what?’”, adding “I spent a long time consulting my worries with my acquaintance. That friend said ‘I’ll get some water’, then left and returned with two cups of water. That’s when I was very shocked. Lia doesn’t do that. When we go to a restaurant, she gets only one spoon and a pair of chopsticks. So when I came home, I began to wonder ‘Is she a bad person?’”.
After then, the boyfriend got to know about the syndrome that Lia Kim has and he felt rather relieved. He said, “I thought ‘That’s how she felt’ and was very grateful to know that”.
Lia Kim said, “I think it’s not something that I can change even if I try. I felt so bad. If there was a possibility to sympathize with it and improve it, I would be willing to do something, but I realized that it was a bit difficult to do so.”
Regarding her plan to marry her boyfriend, Lia Kim said, “When it came to getting married, I did have a vague thought that ‘I have to do it with this person’. When I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, and when I felt that I was having some problems, I wondered whether I would make the person who lives with me feel uncomfortable. I wondered if I could say ‘Let’s do it’ to him first”. She added, “I think there would be a problem if I couldn’t sympathize and interact properly with the baby if I gave birth to a child with a disability. I think it would be very difficult for the person who marries me and live together with me to deal with all of that things for the rest of his life.”
