Lawyer “FIFTY FIFTY’s image was badly affected as they have been labeled as ‘betrayal idols'”

Girl group FIFTY FIFTY’s legal representative revealed the current situation in which the members are struggling with the “betrayer” image and the reason why they accused Attrakt’s CEO Jeon Hong Joon of breach of trust.

FIFTY FIFTY filed a criminal complaint against CEO Jeon Hong Joon on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (Breach of Trust).

FIFTY FIFTY alleged that CEO Jeon Hong Joon misappropriated funds received as prepayments for future performances from the affiliate company StarCrew ENT and burdened FIFTY FIFTY with the resulting debt. Additionally, they claimed that CEO Jeon Hong Joon used revenues from FIFTY FIFTY’s music and album sales unrelated to prepayments to cover the debt, adversely affecting their financial stability.

Lawyer Lee Dong Hoon of FIFTY FIFTY’s legal representative Barun Law Firm highlighted concerns that ongoing financial misconduct could jeopardize the group’s ability to receive fair compensation in the future.

The lawyer emphasized that taking legal action against Attrakt was not their initial intention, but they felt compelled to do so in order to address the alleged financial irregularities. He stated that if funds intended for FIFTY FIFTY’s benefit were diverted for personal or other business purposes, it would be unjust for the group to bear the debt.

The dispute over prepayment funds from Interpark and how some argue that FIFTY FIFTY should not question the use of these funds were also mentioned. However, lawyer Lee clarified that even if Interpark or CEO Jeon were involved, the funds from FIFTY FIFTY’s music and album sales should still be used to repay the debt, given the economic relationship between the parties involved.

FIFTY FIFTY’s image was badly affected as they have been labeled with derogatory terms such as “betrayal idols” due to their ongoing contractual dispute with Attrakt and their decision to take legal action.

Lawyer Lee acknowledged the damage caused to FIFTY FIFTY’s image and explained that they did not originally plan to file a criminal complaint against CEO Jeon. However, they felt it was necessary to address the issues and assert their rights, even if it resulted in legal action.

He also clarified that the group’s refusal of mediation was not absolute, but rather a refusal to return to Attrakt while considering other options. He suggested that the dispute has been misrepresented, leading to misunderstandings about their stance.
