Kris Wu is currently awaiting the verdict of his appeal trial at the Chao Yang District Prison in Beijing
On October 26, as reported by QQ, Kris Wu recently met a cousin who was temporarily detained for drunkenness. While in jail, the cousin happened to reunite with Kris Wu and later disclosed information about his prison life.
Accordingly, Kris Wu lives in a prison cell with several other inmates, using a shared bathroom and toilet facilities, receiving no special treatment. Occasionally, he meets with his attorney to discuss the progress of his appeal case.
On regular days, Kris Wu is assigned to sewing work. Kris Wu is now allowed to keep his hair long and doesn’t have to shave his head. He also plays basketball with other inmates.
Furthermore, a speaker with a friend working within the prison shared that Kris Wu has been writing songs with a positive energy and actively participating in some performances within the prison.
Kris Wu was sentenced to two years in temporary detention. Prior to this, in the initial trial that took place in November 2022, Kris Wu was sentenced to 13 years in prison and subsequently deported from China for ten years.
However, Kris Wu’s attorney filed an appeal, arguing that the sentence was unjustifiably severe. Legal analysts believe that due to clear evidence of the crimes from the victims, Kris Wu cannot plead not guilty, and he intends to appeal to reduce his sentence.
Kris Wu was once China’s top star. Taking advantage of his fame and status, he organized parties at his house, where he sexually assaulted three women, all of whom were intoxicated. In July 2021, influencer Du Meizhu exposed Kris Wu’s criminal acts. He was then arrested, investigated, and sentenced to 13 years in prison. Kris Wu’s career has since crumbled.
