The Bangkok Post reported that Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban, from the province of Buriram, Thailand, found her name on the list of honorees recognized by the Thai Ministry of Culture. The award ceremony was scheduled to take place at the Thai Cultural Center in Bangkok on October 3rd.

Thai Culture Minister Sermsak Pongpanich commended Lisa for her role in setting trends not only among Thais but also among international fans. Lisa’s embodiment of soft power has been proven in revitalizing cultural tourism and injecting revenue into local communities.

This is the most visible in Lisa’s debut solo MV “Lalisa.” In the MV, she included Phanom Rung temple from her hometown in the narrative, alongside showcasing traditional Thai craftsmanship. Lisa’s choice of wearing traditional yellow attire resulted in a surge in online orders and overall the income of local artisans.

Lisa’s fondness for Luk Chin Yuan Kin (Thai-style meatballs) and Nam Prik Pao sauce (Thai chili sauce) has also garnered significant interest in the signature dishes of Buriram. Likewise, her Instagrak posts detailing her visits to the city of Ayutthaya and her enjoying dishes such as Roti Sai Mai (cotton candy-wrapped roti) and Moo Krata (a blend of hotpot and grilling) have played a role in raising awareness about Thai culture and cuisine.

According to Korean media outlets, Lisa stands as one of the standout talents of the 2020s. Beyond her musical prowess, Lisa also assumes the role of a cultural ambassador, significantly influencing the youth demographic and contributing to the economic landscape.

As news of Lisa’s recognition by the Thai Ministry of Culture makes waves on X/Twitter, fans express their pride and congratulations, asserting that Lisa’s accomplishments deserve every acknowledgment.

However, anti-fans persist in leveling criticism against Lisa, primarily stemming from her recent performance at the Crazy Horse cabaret. They left comments such as, “They praise her as a positive role model for the youth while she performed in a strip club,” and “Does the ministry genuinely view stripping as an act worthy of praise?”

In defense of Lisa, fans emphasize her outstanding contributions and positive influence. “Lisa has excelled in her job and served as a positive role model for many years,” “These losers are venting their anger solely through comments,” “Congratulations to Lalisa. She rightfully deserves this recognition.”
