ITZY opened the concept film of the new album “CHECKMATE” and unveiled their new visual for the first time.
ITZY will make a comeback with the release of their 5th mini album “CHECKMATE” at 1 PM on July 15th. Accordingly, JYP Entertainment posted the first concept film “ITZY “CHECKMATE” CONCEPT FILM #1″ on its official SNS channels at 0 o’clock on June 6th, boosting the comeback’s fever.
In the video, ITZY caught the eye by showing off their beautiful visuals against the backdrop of a pure white space. Black and white costumes, colorful accessories and smoky makeup that highlighted the members’ individuality created a luxurious and special feeling. They also showed strong charisma by staring at the camera with steady gazes, signaling a new concept. In particular, following the promotion scheduler shaped like a chess score sheet, the appearance of 5 members moving chess pieces raised curiosity.
ITZY prepared a large-scale comeback promotion for their new album, which will be released about 10 months after the 1st full album “CRAZY IN LOVE” in September 2021. They plan to introduce abundant teasing contents that will please global fans one after another. On the day of their comeback, they will communicate with Korean and overseas MIDZY (fandom name) through Twitter Blueroom and Mnet Comeback Special.
From August, they will kick off their first world tour that everyone has been waiting for. Starting with Seoul concerts on August 6th and 7th, the tour will be held in 8 cities in the U.S. including Los Angeles on October 26th (local time), Phoenix on October 29th, Dallas on November 1st, Houston on November 3rd, Atlanta on November 5th, Chicago on November 7th, Boston on November 10th and New York on November 13th. In the future, they will announce additional concerts and meet more global fans to share the joy of the group’s first world tour.
Meanwhile, ITZY’s new mini album “CHECKMATE” will be officially released at 1 PM on July 15th.
