Singer Kim Jong-kook expressed his honest feelings about suspicions of using steroids.
On Nov 25, Kim Jong-kook posted a long message along with a new video on his YouTube channel “Kim Jong-kook GYM JONG KOOK”. He wrote, “The doping test results are delayed, so I’ll finish with a video as soon as the results come out. It’s a promise to many people who believed and supported me regardless of the current situation. I’m getting tired, too.” Then, he added, “I’ve lived my life while making a careful effort to avoid various accidents that may occur as a public figure, but I really couldn’t have predicted this incident.”
He also confessed, “If there was a cause in some way, there would be some effect. It seems that it was a unique issue that made me feel guilty about whether I should have exercised in moderation for my age.” Finally, he concluded, “I came here to look back on my old memories in order to heal my tired mind after going through this difficult incident. Let’s do our best!”
In the video, Kim Jong-kook visited his home in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, where he spent his childhood with his mother. As if conscious of recent suspicions, he said, “I don’t think I’m in good shape. There are too many people in better shape than me.”
Last month, Kim Jong-kook was embroiled in a controversy over allegations of using steroids by Canadian bodybuilder and health YouTuber Greg Doucette. As the controversy continued, Kim Jong-kook announced legal actions on Nov 18. Afterwards, Greg Doucette apologized for raising suspicions and deleted all videos about Kim Jong-kook.
