After accusations of drug use emerged surrounding BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, the male idol hasn’t got a day of peace. In fact, rumors of G-Dragon getting his contract with Chanel terminated and having to pay a hefty penalty fee has recently emerged, drawing discussion. However, Korean netizens only laughed at this allegation.
In particular, a topic titled “G-dragon paying Chanel’s contract penalty fee” was recently published on the Korean forum Instiz, garnering attention.
However, contrary to this title, this topic simply refuted the rumors of contract termination between Chanel and G-Dragon, saying, “To those who have been talking about a penalty fee. G-Dragon is literally wearing a cardigan from the Chanel Fall-Winter 23/24 Collection in his interview”.
It is later revealed that G-Dragon’s cardigan, which appeared in an exclusive interview of the male idol with Yonhap News, is indeed from Chanel, costing a hefty sum of 3960 British pounds (almost 5,000 USD), proving that the male idol’s relationship with Chanel is as strong as ever.
Additionally, under the comment sections, many also agree with the original poster, claiming that Chanel never removed G-Dragon’s video even amid drug accusations. In fact, when the “drug scandal” happened, the brand simply said that they are aware of the circumstances, but cannot give any official announcement.
Previously, G-Dragon was accused of using drugs by a “witness”, but has since willingly showed up at the police station to assist the investigation.
