K-dramas weekly popularity ranking: Kim Tae-ri x Nam Joo-hyuk’s “Twenty-five, Twenty-one” dominated the top spot, “Forecasting Love and Weather” came in 2nd place

Good Data Corporation revealed charts of the most discussed dramas and drama casts from February 7th to February 13th, 2020. 

tvN’s “Twenty-five, Twenty-one” became the No.1 most discussed drama. Netizens gave mixed responses after the airing of its 1st episode. However, after episode 2 was broadcast, many favorable reviews were poured out, such as “This drama is so refreshing. It has a summer vibe”, “The directing is so good”. Moreover, Nam Joo-hyuk’s acting and visual also received positive reactions. Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk also ranked No.1 and No.2 in popularity ranking for actors.

JTBC’s new series “Forecasting Love and Weather”, started its journey by charting 2nd place in dramas “hot topic” chart. Attracting the viewers’ attention with its story that keeps getting more and more interesting, this drama also gained enthusiastic responses for its fast developments and the setting of Lee Si-woo, the character played by Song Kang. Song Kang and Park Min-young’s chemistry also drew positive public opinions. Many audiences complimented Park Min-young as “a trustworthy actress” and “chemistry fairy”. Park Min-young ranked No.3 in the drama cast’s popularity chart and was followed by Song Kang (3rd place) and Yoon Park (10th place).

KBS2’s “Young Lady and Gentlemen”, which airs only one episode per week due to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, fell to 3rd place in the drama’s “hot topic” chart with a decrease of 22.53% compared to last week’s result. In the aftermath of the Winter Olympics broadcasts, the drama aired one episode every week for 2 consecutive weeks. This is why it showed a decline in popularity with disappointment from fans who have consistently watched the drama. Lee Se-hee and Ji Hyun-woo ranked No.5 and No.8 in the drama cast’s popularity ranking.

JTBC’s “Artificial City” rose 1.78% from the previous week’s figure, rising to 4th place in the dramas’ popularity chart. Although the drama was discussed about more than the previous week, many netizens commented expressing regrets over the drama’s ending. Soo-ae ranked No.6 in the ranking for drama casts.

The 5th drama mentioned in the “hot topic” chart was tvN’s “Ghost Doctor”, which went down one place compared to the result in the previous week. After its first episode broadcast, “Ghost Doctor” has been on a decline for 5 consecutive weeks. Although the drama was not mentioned a lot, audiences who kept watching it left numerous positive comments saying that the story was “interesting”. Jung Ji-hoon ranked 7th place in the popularity chart for actors alongside Kim Bum at 9th place.

Compared to the result in the first week of February, when it was canceled due to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, KBS2’s “Moonshine” rose 65.31% in popularity points, ranking No.6. Netizens gave divided reactions to the drama. Some said it was fun, but many others pointed out that it left no impression on them.

Other dramas in the popularity rankings were No.7 SBS’s “Through the Darkness”, No.8 SBS’s upcoming drama “A Business Proposal”, No.9 JTBC’s upcoming series “Thirty Nine”, and No10 JTBC’s “The One and Only”.

This ranking was released on February 14th, 2022 by the TV topic analysis institute Good Data Corporation after analyzing netizens’ responses in relation to news articles, blogs/communities, videos, and SNS sites for 21 ongoing and upcoming dramas from February 7th to February 13th, 2022.
