Jennie revealed what BLACKPINK’s like off stage, opened up about physical and mental health during busy times

Jennie also confirmed BLACKPINK is planning their next album and tour.

In BLACKPINK’s recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jennie shared many behind-the-scenes stories. When asked about the real BLACKPINK when they are not in the spotlight, whether they still have the same confident, badass, and “swag” image that they are best known for on camera, Jennie said BLACKPINK members are actually the same as any girls their age.

Jennie said, “Sure, there are times when we talk about what kind of influence we could have, what we should bring on our next comeback. But what we actually love is talking about our cats, dogs, good food, and pretty places.”

She added that BLACKPINK just wants to be “ordinary” and their similarity is their love for what they’re doing, cool stuff, and music. According to Jennie, these common interests “balance out to form a coexistence of BLACKPINK with their human, girlish sides.”

Different from the girl crush image on stage, BLACKPINK in real life are girly, ordinary girls

In the interview, Jennie also addressed health, which has become a concern for her these days. She confessed about the 3 years after BLACKPINK debuted when both her physical and mental health were drained after months of hard work without a break.

She said, “I became sick, both mentally and physically, after the last world tour ended (in 2020). For three years after debuting, we worked nonstop without resting. We were young, in our early 20s. Our sleep systems were breaking down. We weren’t eating properly. And then started our tour. We were on tour for a year and a half.  For a year and a half I didn’t have a home.”

She continued, “When the tour was done, we got some time off to be at home. Back then, I didn’t have time to learn how to take care of myself. I’m a very delicate person.”

Jennie also confirmed through the interview that BLACKPINK is preparing for their long-awaited comeback and next world tour. So one of the things on Jennie’s mind these days is how to stay healthy for the next two years with hectic schedules.

BLACKPINK’s busy schedules can’t help but exhaust the members

What Jennie shared has partly revealed the stressful life of an A-list idol. At the end of the day, no matter how famous and successful they are, they are still ordinary people who get tired and worn out.
