Japanese TV Personality Sayuri, “A Top Korean Singer Asked Me How Many People I Had Sexual Intercourse With”

Sayuri, a Japanese TV personality working in Korea, recalled a rude comment she heard from a Korean celebrity

On December 16th, Sayuri posted a video on her YouTube channel “Sayuri TV.”

In this video, Sayuri said, “I appeared on a program on MBC 10 years ago. I was drinking coffee at a coffee shop on the first floor of the broadcast station because I was filming the program all day long and my manager wasn’t with me. I ended up drinking coffee with an old celebrity who was also in the program.”

“But (he) said, ‘Sayuri, your skin is not good. You have a lot of pimples.’ I was surprised because Japanese don’t talk about others’ appearance like that. He said I needed to take care of my skin, he seemed worried about my skin.”

Sayuri recalled the rude remarks that she heard at the time. She said, “(He) said Korean thinks Japanese are not honest. “I’ve never met anyone who is honest. I’ll ask you now, so answer me honestly. How many people had you have sexual intercourse with?” Hẻ suddenly asked me such a strange question, so I pretended I didn’t understand and said, ‘Huh?’. I was embarrassed. I didn’t think he would ask me this question.”

“I was more scared than angry. I should have been angry, but I was a foreigner and I was too young. I still get angry when I see him on TV singing. It was really sad and upsetting that he dared to say this to a woman about the same age as his daughter,” she said. “That person is still on TV. I am still upset.”
