Actor Ha Seok Jin recalled the bad memories when he was serving as a riot police officer, stating they are more abusive than the scenes in “D.P”
Actor Ha Seok Jin revealed that he was abused while serving as a riot police officer.
On September 17, a video was uploaded on Ha Seok Jin‘s Youtube channel titled “The moment that former riot police Ha Seok Jin had experienced is much crueler than ‘D.P'”
In his video, Ha Seok Jin said,
“The Netflix drama “D.P” has recently become a hot topic because it tells stories that are very realistic. Therefore, I will tell you my military story. At the age of 19, I thought I would serve the military in the army. However, after the training course, I was sent to a police school in Chungju. I entered the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station and worked as a riot police officer. My main duty was to control civil protesters and vehicles.
Ha Seok Jin then recalled a memory of having to breastfeed puppies. He said,
“I talked about it once on MBC’s “Radio Star”. There was a dog that entered the police station 3 months earlier than me. Then, the dog gave birth to puppies. At that time, my senior was really evil. He loves dogs so much, but the mother dog didn’t milk its puppies. Therefore, I had to drop the dog milk on my chest and fed them. Of course, I didn’t want to do so, but the puppies only drank the milk on my chest. That was a sad memory when I was the youngest member while serving the military and had to breastfeed puppies in the security office.”
Ha Seok Jin continued to share that he often got hit by the seniors if he couldn’t memorize the car numbers or the faces of the superiors who often came there. He said,
“When the superiors felt good, they just went in and out right away. However, if they were in a bad mood, they would call my seniors and told them to educate the subordinates. Then, I was dragged and hit. Although each unit has different situations, once you enter the military, you have to tolerate violence. The scars still remain on my legs. It’s not something to brag about, but I hope the life in the military will be improved even a little.”
In addition, Ha Seok Jin said he was once misunderstood for gaining weight because of his swollen face. He shared,
“What I could remember was that the seniors didn’t come out to work early in the morning when they had to be the guards. Therefore, I had to work early in the morning because my senior was not awake, and the noncommissioned officer on duty saw me at 4 a.m. At that time, I was working with a swollen face after being beaten by my senior. The noncom officer saw me and asked, “Ha Seok Jin, you are adapting to the environment here well, right?”. I was confident because I was working early in the morning, and my face was swollen. All of a sudden, the noncom officer said, “I guess you are living well. Why did you gain so much weight on your face?”. I remembered my hope just turned into despair.”
