Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Coming Soon? New Cast Lineup Revealed

On January 8, Netflix Korea published a post on Instagram along with the caption, “After 78 years, let’s meet again. ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ Season 2 coming soon.”

Previously, after “Gyeongseong Creasure” Season 1 aired, various inquiries about the release of Season 2, the number of episodes, as well as the cast lineup, have emerged.

On the other hand, contrary to the historical setting of season 1, “Gyeongseong Creature Season 2” will adopt a more dynamic story set in a new era, and is scheduled for release later within 2024. Particularly, the historical background is moved from 1945 Gyeongseong to 2024 Gyeongseong.

In addition, expectations for the work have risen with the news of Lee Moo-saeng and Bae Hyun-sung joining the cast lineup, following the acclaimed performances of Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee.

If Season 1 of “Gyeongseong Creature” vividly portrayed the monstrous human figures born out of greed, Season 2 is expected to focus on the fate of main characters Tae-sang and Chae-ok, with a completely different and appealing story unfolding regarding their future.

In addition, in the teaser video at the end of “Gyeongseong Creature Season 2”, a person called “Ho-jae”, yet had a face similar to the male lead Jang Tae-sang, appeared. However, a long scar running vertically on his neck raised curiosity about his backstory.

The newly released still of “Gyeongseong Creature”‘s 2nd season also foreshadowed a huge, unfinished threat to female lead Chae-ok, raising expectations for attractions.

Director Jung Dong-yoon of Gyeongseong Creature also hinted at an expanded worldview, saying, “With space and time changing, it seems there will be a more distinct difference”.

Meanwhile, after the release of Part 2 of “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 1, the drama ranked 1st in the Netflix rankings in Korea and 3rd globally in non-English speaking countries. It also entered the top 10 in 69 countries, including Japan, France, Australia, and Brazil, demonstrating its popularity.
