However, just before the release, a brief notice was posted on (G)I-DLE’s official SNS. The agency stated, “The ‘(G)I-DLE 2nd Full Album [2] Audio Snippet’ scheduled to be released at midnight today has been delayed due to a work program error. The video will be uploaded shortly after at 12:30 AM. Fans who have been waiting, we ask for your generous understanding.”
This announcement left fans who were anticipating the teaser feeling perplexed. Even after 12:30 AM, the video was not uploaded. Around 12:42 AM, another notice was posted, saying the video would be uploaded at 12 PM.
Accordingly, a post containing the sighing phrase “Ha…” was uploaded to (G)I-DLE’s leader and main rapper Soyeon’s personal channel. This post is speculated to be a reaction to Cube Entertainment’s handling of the situation.
However, the confusion escalated when the video, which was initially scheduled for release at 12 PM on Jan 19th, was suddenly released after 1 AM. Subsequently, all delay notices posted by the agency were deleted.
Fans expressed their anger over this handling of affairs. Netizens also shared negative reactions, criticizing the agency for such handling ahead of the comeback.
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE is set to release their 2nd full album “2” through various online music sites at 6 PM on Jan 29th.
