Super Junior will release their special single album “The Road: Winter for Spring” through various online music sites at 6 PM on Feb 28th. This album is the first group song to be released in over a year since Super Junior’s tenth full album “The Renaissance” (March 2021). In particular, Super Junior raised fans’ expectations to the fullest by foretelling soft emotions through teaser images and MV teaser videos for the title song “Callin‘”.
As Super Junior achieved good results on Korean and foreign music charts with their previous work “The Renaissance”, people are paying attention to what other records they will write this year.
“Concept fairy” OH MY GIRL confirmed their comeback in March and is spurring preparations for a new album. This is the first comeback in about 10 months since the 8th mini album “Dear OH MY GIRL” released in May last year.
OH MY GIRL succeeded with mega-hit “Dun Dun Dance” released last year as they dominated various music charts as well as being ranked at the top of the annual charts, proving their strong music power. In particular, “Nonstop” and “Dolphin“, which were released in 2020, became one of the longest-charting girl group songs one after another. Therefore, people are focusing on whether they will be able to occupy the throne of “digital queen” through this promotion.
According to SM Entertainment, Red Velvet and NCT DREAM are also working on their albums with the aim of returning in March. It is the first comeback in 7 months since Red Velvet‘s sixth mini album “Queendom” released in August last year, as well as 10 months since NCT DREAM‘s first full album “Hot Sauce” and first repackage album “Hello Future” released in May last year.
Both groups are top groups that sweep various Korean and foreign music charts with high-quality music. The music industry is paying keen attention to what concepts they will use to write a new history this time.
BIGBANG, a group that has been reorganized into a four-member group since Seungri’s withdrawal, will also make a comeback in about four years after completing military service. YG Entertainment said in an official statement on Feb 7th, “BIGBANG will release a new song this spring. They have finished recording and are currently about to film a music video.” However, as member T.O.P’s exclusive contract expired, he plans to continue both group activities and his personal activities in the future.
BIGBANG debuted in 2006 and celebrated their 17th debut anniversary this year. Although the group has been at the top by producing numerous hit songs, it is also true that their reputation was affected badly by various controversies surrounding the members. Accordingly, the public is focusing on whether this promotion will help regain their reputation.
