Rapper in Jungkook’s “Seven” is asking people to delete her past racist remarks

After quietly deleting her past racist remarks, Latto, who featured in Jungkook’s “Seven”, is asking people to remove screenshots as well.

Recently, various social media platforms and online communities have been paying attention to female rapper Latto, who featured in BTS Jungkook’s “Seven”. In particular, her past racist remarks have been the talk of the town.

Back in 2015, Latto made various remarks on SNS platform Twitter, mocking Asians.

At the time, she used derogatory language like “Tai Kwonsuki” to make fun of Asian martial arts like Taekwondo, and also insulted Asians by calling them “pet orangutans”, bringing up the stereotypes that Asians eat dogs and cats, as well as using the slur “LingLing”.

When these past racist remarks became controversial after her collaboration with BTS Jungkook, Latto quietly deleted those specific posts and asked those who posted screenshots of the posts to delete them as well.

As Jungkook’s “Seven” is topping the domestic charts and even reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100, it seems that Latto is becoming aware of the controversy and is trying to get rid of the old posts.

Meanwhile, netizens show a mixed response to Latto’s actions, with some saying that it’s unreasonable to make a controversy out of posts from eight years ago. However, others insist that if Latto has realized her mistake, she should have apologized instead of quietly deleting the posts.

On the other hand, Jungkook previously expressed gratitude for Latto, stating that he reached out to the rapper, thinking she would suit the song. In response, after achieving the milestone of entering the “Billboard Hot 100”, Latto answered to Jungkook’s appreciation, saying, “Thank you for believing in me.”
