Fans Lament over Constant Unfair Treatment towards RIIZE’s Eunseok
A topic regarding the treatment of SM Entertainment towards RIIZE’s Eunseok in the group’s latest comeback has drawn attention.
On June 17, SM boy group RIIZE made their return to the music scene with their 1st mini-album “RIIZING” and the titled track “Boom Boom Bass”.
Highly-anticipated as this comeback is, however, it ended up disappointing fans of RIIZE’s Eunseok due to the unfair treatment he receives.
In particular, a topic titled “Why does Eunseok get so few lines despite his good singing?” was published on the Korean forum Pann shortly after the comeback, drawing huge attention.
Here, the author of the topic laments, “In the MV, it feels like Eunseok’s face gets fast-forwarded as soon as it appears. He has good dance skills, good proportions, and is the visual of the group. Even when he stands in the center, he doesn’t look out of place. It would be great if he could get more singing lines and screen time.”
“Except for Wonbin and Sohee, the other four members have similar skills, so why is Eunseok always treated like this?”, the author also added.
Responding to the topic, most people seem to agree, finding SM’s treatment towards Eunseok to be rather unfair. Below are some comments from netizens:
- Sohee is the main vocal, and Wonbin is the center and the second vocalist, so I have no complaints there. But Eunseok is the only one out of the remaining four who always gets this treatment. He sings well and is not bad at all.
- Haha, the same thing happened in “Impossible” —his screentime was terrible, and they even nerfed his looks. Just give him back his black hair.
- In “Impossible” and this time too, he had many center parts but was nexted so much you couldn’t even see his nose. Fans are always silent about it.
- Watching the MV, I thought Eunseok was invisible ㅋㅋㅋ. I don’t understand why SM is wasting his talent like this.
