Drama that has not been aired for 3 years due to lead actress’ school violence controversy “Deliver surprising news”

On Jan 25th, a KBS official said, “Various discussions are underway regarding the airing of ‘Dear.M’. Nothing has been confirmed.“

Earlier, a media outlet reported that “Dear.M” would be scheduled as the follow-up to the Monday-Tuesday drama “Love Song for Illusion”, which has aired up to episode 7.

“Dear.M” follows the university life of four students at Seoyeon University as they search for “M” – the writer of a community article. Park Hye-su and NCT’s Jaehyun starred in the drama.

Originally scheduled to air in February 2021, it was postponed due to the school violence allegations against lead actress Park Hye-su at the time. In the same year, there were rumors of scheduling again, but KBS stated, “There’s no decision made.“

Afterwards, “Dear.M” aired first in Japan. At the time, a representative from the production company Playlist explained, “Overseas sales were being carried out separately from domestic programming, and in this process, discussions about programming in Japan were held.”

Park Hye-su’s school violence allegations were first raised through an online community in 2021. At the time, her agency stated that it was “baseless” and promised legal action.

On the other hand, A, who claims to be a victim of Park Hye-su’s school violence, rebutted, “The ‘Park Hye-su School Violence Victims Group’ of about ten people has never once asked for money. What we want is a sincere apology from Park Hye-su.”

Amidst this controversy, Park Hye-su returned through the movie “The Dream Songs” in October last year.

At the time, Park Hye-su confessed, “The investigation is still ongoing, but my position remains unchanged, and I will continue to do my best until the end.”
