The newly married couple Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In couple kept their promise by donating the money they received for their wedding.
On April 24th, OSEN reported that Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In donated 110 million won in wedding gifts to the Korean Red Cross.
According to the report, 100 million won of the donation went to support parents in childcare, and 10 million won was delivered to help people affected by the Gangneung wildfire.
Previously, Lee Seung Gi promised to “repay in the future” while revealing his honest feelings about marriage through SNS on April 12th.
At that time, he wrote, “Before and after marrying Lee Da In, we promised to ‘live by repaying’”, adding, “We will take care of places that need help and look after the hurting ones. This determination will be kept regardless of malicious comments.”
He also said, “Many people came to our wedding ceremony and congratulated us. I’m sincerely grateful” and “Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In will use all the incoming wedding gifts as a support fund for vulnerable children.”
Lee Seung Gi has been consistently practicing donations while working in the entertainment industry for a long time.
In December last year, he donated 2 billion won to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, and in January, he continued his good deeds by donating 550 million won to the Korean Red Cross. In February, he also donated 300 million won to KAIST as a science and technology development fund.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In became husband and wife by tying the knot at a hotel in Seoul on April 7th.
However, Lee Seung Gi has been receiving harsh comments from the public due to various controversies surrounding Lee Da In’s step-father.
