Entertainment agency Uzu Rocks has officially apologized to actress Song Ji Hyo.
In a press release on April 24th, Uzu Rocks acknowledged the fact that they reached an agreement to terminate their exclusive contract with Song Ji Hyo, stating that “Uzu Rocks apologizes for not paying attention to the important details that needed to be provided to our actors due to the company’s rapid expansion in the entertainment industry during the early stages of the internal situation.“
They added, “We acknowledge the mistake due to the rapid expansion in various business fields based on content” and expressed their apologies to many who have been supporting and cheering for their existing business.
They also stated, “Although we could not be together for a long time, we have been together based on trust. We express deep gratitude to Song Ji Hyo for her dedication. It was an honor to be with Song Ji Hyo, who has been loved in many fields so far.”
Earlier, OSEN reported an interview with Song Ji Hyo’s representative. The representative said, “It is true that Song Ji Hyo notified Uzu Rocks of the termination of her exclusive contract on April 14th. In fact, the situation now is nothing but the absence of the exclusive contract’s effect. However, Uzu Rocks has a different view on this, so we plan to proceed with procedures such as confirming the absence of the effect of the exclusive contract and filing a lawsuit.”
Song Ji Hyo’s representative also explained that the reason for the notification of the suspension of the exclusive contract’s effect was that the trust of artists in Uzu Rocks was broken due to issues related to the payment and settlement of employees’ wages.
Furthermore, the representative added, “We plan to prepare a lawsuit for the payment of delayed salary as well as the absence of the effect of the exclusive contract.“
Earlier, Uzu Rocks was engulfed in allegations of unpaid salary to employees and artists on April 5th. At the time, Uzu Rocks explained, “We have already paid salaries and four major insurance benefits to those who have resigned, and salaries to producers will also be paid as planned. Settlement for our artists will also proceed without any delay at the scheduled time.”
