Choi Yena cancels post-recording for “Music Core” due to poor physical condition

On July 1st, her agency Yuehua Entertainment announced, “The post-recording for MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ has been canceled due to Choi Yena’s poor physical condition.”

Choi Yena was scheduled to post-record her new song “Hate Rodrigo” for MBC’s “Show! Music Core”, but the schedule was canceled due to her poor physical condition.

Choi Yena released her second single “Hate XX” on June 27th and started promotional activities for the title song “Hate Rodrigo”. However, she has been embroiled in controversy as she used a rather strong tone of “hate” and mentioned the real name of Olivia Rodrigo, a pop star who is currently active.

There was also the issue of portrait rights. The agency Yuehua Entertainment changed the music video to private, which was speculated to be due to Olivia Rodrigo’s protest. On the other hand, the agency explained, “We discovered certain scenes that might cause issues, such as infringement of trademark rights, portrait rights and copyrights.” The music video was later re-released with the scenes featuring Olivia Rodrigo’s pictures deleted.
