“Connect” director “A handsome actor like Jung Hae In must be lonely… Otherwise, it’s unfair”

Director Takashi Miike of Disney+’s new drama “Connect” talked about why he cast actor Jung Hae In as Ha Dong Soo.

Director Takashi Miike talked about the character Ha Dong Soo (played by Jung Hae In) at a preview and conference for Disney+’s new drama “Connect” held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of Dec 5th. He confessed, “Ha Dong Soo is a person who lives in loneliness. An actor needs solitude to express Ha Dong Soo. I thought it’d be very difficult to portray him.“

Director Takashi went on to say, “When I saw Jung Hae In or watched the works which he starred in, I thought he was very handsome and cool. I also thought, ‘This person must be lonely since such a handsome person is even a top star. God would be unfair if he wasn’t lonely.’ I felt that Jung Hae In was a perfect fit for Ha Dong Soo, and I’m grateful that he expressed this character well.“

“Connect”, which depicts a mysterious story that occurs when a man who has been deprived of a part of his body by organ hunters connects with a person who has received an organ transplant, will be released on Dec 7th.
