Lee Yi-kyung Almost Joined HYBE? “I Auditioned In Front Of Bang Si-hyuk”

On March 1st, KBS 2TV’s variety program “The Seasons: Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” featured the guest appearance of NCT’s Ten and Lee Yi-kyung.

Introduced as Lee Hyo-ri’s favorite junior singer, Ten showed up on the program to promote his solo album. Known as the only Thai member of NCT, Ten has been living in Korea for 11 years and his fluent Korean attracted attention. Lee Hyo-ri mentioned other Thai idols such as BamBam and Lisa and asked if they were popular in Thailand. In response, Ten said, “I think so”.

Following Ten, Lee Yi-kyung appeared as the second guest that day and expressed his sincere passion for singing. The actor surprised everyone when he said he did an audition in front of Bang Si-hyuk. Lee Yi-kyung shyly shared, “People might think I joined HYBE”. He continued, “I asked, “I tried all the auditions with my college friends, and at that time, Chairman Bang Si-hyuk told us not to imitate each other”, drawing laughter.

Lee Yi-kyung, who released the song “Leave Work On Time” with his own money, said, “I was supposed to make it by dividing the cost by 5:5 with my CEO, but COVID-10 broke out”. Hearing that, Lee Hyo-ri exclaimed, “But the guest lineup for the music video was amazing though”. Lee Yi-kyung commented, “It would be so good if the song climbed back on charts”. Wearing glittery outfits, the actor then performed a duet with Lee Hyo-ri, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
