Airing on Wednesday, February 7th, at 9 PM KST, ‘Foodie Lab’ is a talk show where experts in various fields, from science to humanities, explore curiosities about food from multiple perspectives.

According to last week’s teaser, the first research topic on ‘Foodie Lab’ is the currently trending snack in Korea, ‘Tanghulu.’ Researchers will reveal shocking results, from the origins of the Tanghulu trend to its impact and controversies.

Jeon Hyun-moo expresses surprise at the statement that over 1,300 Tanghulu shops emerged in Korea just last year. Anticipation grows for the broadcast as more shocking truths about Tanghulu are expected to be unveiled.

Additionally, the show features the first Tanghulu ASMR YouTuber in Korea and investigates Tanghulu practices among 26 elementary school students, vividly capturing every aspect of Tanghulu.

Joining as the MZ representative researcher, Ex-LOONA’s Chuu, who once declared herself a ‘half Tanghulu-fanatic’, said, “If you eat Tanghulu, you’ll die early,” retracts her critical statement and confesses to having ordered and eaten nine Tanghulus, bringing laughter to the audience.

In this episode, results from the multidimensional analysis of Tanghulu by experts will be revealed. The ‘Weekend Menu Recommendation’ segment will also share special food recommendations for those pondering what to eat during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. All of this can be confirmed in the premiere of ‘Foodie Lab’ on MBC at 9 PM KST tomorrow.

‘Foodie Lab’ is a food talk show involving proper food research, hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo. Jeon Hyun-moo is joined by Seoul National University professor Moon Jeong-hoon, science communicator Gyudo, writer Park Sang-young, and chef Lee Won-il.
