On December 27th last year, beauty magazine Allure released an interview with Chungha.

In the interview, she said, “I made some big changes in 2023. I met a new agency and started hosting ‘Volume Up’ radio program in October. I’m also reducing the amount of sleeping time, meeting friends more, and speeding up my comeback preparation”.

The female singer also surprised everyone when she said she passed the Korean History Proficiency Exam with a Level 1 certificate.

This is a test organized and conducted by the National Institute of Korean History to promote a direct understanding of Korean history and emphasize the importance of history education. The test is divided into 6 grades, in which Level 1 is from grade 1 to grade 3, while Basic Level is from grade 4 to grade 6.

Mentioning the Korean history certificate Level 1 as her best achievement recently, Chungha explained, “I didn’t have any chance to learn history properly, so I was very afraid of knowing nothing about history. Since there were things I didn’t know and understand, I often stayed silent because I was afraid of making mistakes”.

In addition, she also confessed a special reason. Chungha said, “My maternal grandfather is a man of national merit as he participated in the Gwangju Uprising. I really wanted to learn about the events at that time properly”.

Earlier in October, Chungha appeared on Gabee’s YouTube channel and announced the news of her passing of the Korean History Test.

In response, netizens commented, “She even thinks about her grandfather. What a good granddaughter”, “Despite her busy schedule, she still spent time studying history. I’m really amazed”, “I think she should join a history quiz variety show”, etc.

Meanwhile, Chungha donated 50 million won to support medical expenses for low-income children on January 3rd.
