Cha Tae Hyun reveals behind story of Kim Jong Kook singing ‘Letter’ at his wedding

Kim Jong Kook and Cha Tae Hyun’s precious friendship draws admiration

Episode 3 of JTBC’s program “Express Delivery Mongolia Edition” showed Kim Jong Kook, Jang Hyuk, Cha Tae Hyun, Hong Kyung Min, Hong Kyung In, and the youngest member Kang Hoon enjoying camping on their days off in the beautiful nature somewhere on the border between the desert and grasslands.

After successfully setting up the tents despite struggles due to strong winds, the members had dinner while sitting around the bonfire. While sharing their memories in an emotional atmosphere, Kim Jong Kook expressed his affection for his friends born in the year of the Dragon although he often nags and quarrels with them. 

They brought up the story of when Kim Jong Kook swept music awards from the 3 major TV broadcasting stations in Korea, SBS, KBS and MBC. Recalling that time, Kim Jong Kook confessed, “The MBC Daesang trophy was given to me by Cha Tae Hyun”, emphasizing that it was a special memory.

In addition, Kim Jong Kook also boasted about his extraordinary friendship with Cha Tae Hyun by mentioning the anecdote of when he performed a congratulatory song at Cha Tae Hyun’s wedding.

Accordingly, Kim Jong Kook sang his song “Letter” for the first time at the request of his best friend. In this regard, Cha Tae Hyun conveyed his gratitude towards Kim Jong Kook’s consideration, saying “Jong Kook sang my favorite song at my wedding. I asked him to sing ‘Letter’ and it turned out to be the first time he performed the song live”, creating a heartwarming scene.
