“Reborn Rich” ended with a different ending from the original novel, netizens show mixed responses

Fans’ reactions are divided as the ending of the drama “Reborn Rich” is different from that of the original version.

JTBC’s “Reborn Rich” ended after airing the last episode (episode 16) on the evening of December 25th.

On the broadcast, Yoon Hyun Woo (Song Joong Ki) returned to reality after Jin Do Joon died in a traffic accident. Yoon Hyun Woo revealed himself as an accomplice in the murder of Jin Do Joon and made Sunyang’s family step down from the management front. After solving everything, Yoon Hyun Woo is now working with Oh Se Hyun (Park Hyuk Kwon) again at Miracle Investment.

After the last broadcast of “Reborn Rich”, many people expressed disappointment, leaving comments that they cannot understand the ending that was completely different from that of the original story.

During the broadcast of the last episode, comments with mixed reactions were steadily posted on Youtube, real-time on-air talk, etc.

Many viewers said they were not convinced by the reason that the writer used to explain why Yoon Hyun Woo, who witnessed the traffic accident that caused Jin Do Joon’s death, did not have any memory of Jin Do Joon before being reborn into Jin Do Joon himself.

In fact, “Reborn Rich” is based on a web novel of the same name by San Kyeong. In the original story, Jin Do Joon does not return to reality and successfully takes over Sunyang Group. 

However, the drama version made the main character Yoon Hyun Woo, who was reborn as Jin Do Joon, return to reality.  As a result, Jin Do Joon died as he was, and his goal of taking over Sunyang Group failed. In addition, after confessing the fact about his aiding and abetting the murder of Jin Do Joon, Yoon Hyun Woo moved to work at Miracle Investment and remained a rich character.

The drama ended with a completely different ending, causing the viewers’ debate to continue.
