Kim Min Gyu shared his thoughts on his latest role in the successful drama “Business Proposal”.
After 12 episodes, Business Proposal officially came to an end on April 5th. The drama achieved much success as it exceeded domestic viewership ratings of 10%, entered the top of Netflix’s most-watched shows globally, and went extremely viral on social media platforms. The charm of “Business Proposal” lies in its funny, romantic plot and a talented visual cast with great chemistry.
In a recent interview with Xports News, actor Kim Min Gyu, who plays the second male lead Cha Sung Hoon, talked about “Business Proposal” and expressed his gratitude to the viewers for their interest and love for the drama. In particular, what he revealed about his role as secretary Cha Sung Hoon drew much attention.
Accordingly, when asked about his skyrocketing popularity and whether he felt much difference compared to before the drama’s release, Kim Min Gyu said, “I haven’t felt it. The biggest change that I notice is the increase in the number of my Instagram followers”.
Kim Min Gyu went on to talk about his effort to make secretary Cha in the drama match its webtoon counterpart, “The male characters in the original webtoon have great bodies. They look perfect. So I thought since we making a drama adaptation, the synchronization needs to be high. I wanted to show the same manly and attractive image to the drama audience. There aren’t many scenes of Cha Sung Hoon exercising at the gym in the webtoon but we decided to add them in and show them in a sexy way. I worked out very hard.”
When asked about the most difficult part of filming, he said, “The hardest part is controlling my diet and bulking up to have a muscular body that matches my character’s image in the webtoon. I gained 15 kg. I ate a lot of beef and chicken breast”.
Previously, when the cast of “Business Proposal” had an interview with Netflix, Seol In Ah also revealed that she felt so relieved after the filming of the bedroom scene with Kim Min Gyu was over because both of them worked really hard on dieting and maintaining fit bodies, so now they can eat what they want more comfortably. Both Kim Min Gyu and Seol In Ah’s hard work paid off because their steamy scene where Kim Min Gyu went shirtless gained massive attention, making it one of the most popular “Business Proposal” scenes.
