BLACKPINK’s concerts sold out within seconds, but fans barely got any tickets?

Fans of BLACKPINK are expressing their frustrations about being unable to purchase concert tickets due to scalpers.

With the immense popularity of BLACKPINK, it comes as no wonder that the girl group’s concerts are constantly sold out. Unfortunately, not all of the tickets end up in the hands of true fans, as many people take advantage of the fans’ boying prowess to benefit themselves.

BLACKPINK concluded the European leg of their world tour in December 2022, and has since been touring across Asia. For fans who want to go to the concert in Taiwan, tickets open for sales in November 2022. With two selling sessions, around 55,000 tickets for this concert have been sold out within less than a minute.

However, many fans feel frustrated, as they were unable to buy. According to these fans, a lot of tickets went to scalpers, who purchase huge numbers and pump the price up to multiple times. Now, desperate to see BLACKPINK in real life, fans have no choice but to pay unreasonable amounts of money to secure a ticket for the show.

YG girls have "tricked" a lot of fans

The same story can be said for BLACKPINK’s concert in Hong Kong. Despite the girl group performing for 3 nights here, a huge chunk of the tickets ended up being put up for resale on online platforms, with prices multiple times higher than listed.

In the end, fans still filled up BLACKPINK’s concert venues to the brim, showing that they did not hesitate to pay hefty sums to see the girl group. However, seeing that scalpers are getting out of control, many are demanding for YG to take action.

It is known that scalping is a common problem to popular Kpop groups, including BLACKPINK and BTS. HYBE Labels even applied a “lottery ticketing system” for BTS to prevent the act of scalping.
