TWICE Chaeyoung, “After TWICE renewed contracts with JYP, the settlement split has changed”

TWICE member Chaeyoung disclosed the changes after renewing her contract with JYP Entertainment.

TWICE Chaeyoung guested on the new episode of the web entertainment program “Yes or Hot”, which was released on the Youtube channel “TEO” on August 30th.

Revealing that TWICE attracted 250,000 attendees for their US tour, Jeon Somi asked Chaeyoung, “Now there’s no need for you to promote in Korea, right?”.

In response, Chaeyoung smiled and said, “That’s a strong question to start”, adding “We have fans in Korea as well”.

She continued, “We had our last concert in Atlanta. It started raining as soon as we started our encore stage. It was our final concert. We had already finished the final performance. It rained for our encore stage so it was so exciting. I think we performed like 4 songs for the encore”.

Regarding TWICE’s contract renewal last year, Chaeyoung said, “7 years wasn’t a short period of time”.

When asked about the changes in the new contract, Chaeyoung smiled and replied, “The split. The split is different now.” She then describes how much she receives according to the current contract. Hearing that, Jeon Somi applauded and commented, “That’s so cool. This is going to be chaos”.

Chaeyoung and Jeon Somi were both trainees under JYP Entertainment before their debut.

On the show, Jeon Somi said, “You’ve gone off the grid from the company before, right? You just ghosted everyone and left. We went to catch you again”. As Chaeyoung remembered the event, Jeon Somi asked for the reason she did that.

Chaeyoung responded, “It was the last day of the year. It was like this in a small vocal room. I just felt so empty and out of it so I went out in secret. I think I just wanted to escape the building.”
