After Chuu’s unilateral withdrawal… LOONA’s first move after member reorganization has been revealed

Group LOONA, which became controversial due to member Chuu’s withdrawal, confirmed their comeback with an 11-member system on Jan 3rd, 2023.

On Dec 12th, the agency Blockberry Creative released a teaser image announcing LOONA (Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Go Won, Olivia Hye)’s comeback through LOONA’s official SNS. This is the first album to be released in 7 months since the summer special mini-album “Flip That” released in June.

In the image, a girl’s hand holding a round glass bead with a mysterious mood catches the eye. Along with this, the phrase “LOONA What’s Next [ ]?” is written. “[ ]” is a signature symbol of LOONA’s existing album name, raising questions about what kind of story they will return with this time.

LOONA established themselves as a “4th-generation core girl group” by proving a wide musical spectrum with their unique worldview and colorful concept. In addition, they successfully held their first world tour after debut “LOONATHEWORLD” and finished as runner-up of Mnet’s “Queendom 2”.

However, LOONA has recently been at the center of controversy after popular member Chuu was unilaterally kicked out of the group. Blockberry Creative announced, “We conducted an investigation after receiving reports about abuse of power, including verbal abuse, by Chuu toward our staff members, and found out it was true. Our company’s representative has apologized to the staff and is currently comforting them. We also decided to take responsibility by expelling Chuu from LOONA.”

Chuu received a lot of love for her bright and harmless image while she was active as a member of LOONA. After the agency’s announcement, fans responded, “We can’t believe it.” Besides, the staff who worked with Chuu also criticized the agency by uploading posts that appreciate Chuu’s personality through SNS.
