tvN’s “Behind Every Star” is under fire for this problematic scene.
In the new episode of tvN’s drama “Behind Every Star”, which aired on November 21st, Chun Jane (Kwak Sun Young), the head of Method Entertainment’s management team, and Lee Sang Wook (Noh Sang Hyun), the head of the Seoul Regional Tax Service’s investigation department, started dating.
After visiting the filming site, Chun Jane returned to the dorm and sensed a suspicious presence inside. She turned around and was startled to see a man in her bathroom. The man was her boyfriend Lee Sang Wook, who secretly came to her dorm. Lee Sang Wook was enjoying a bath while soaking in the bathtub. He told Chun Jane, “Surprise. Come in.”
When Chun Jane asked, “How did you know I was here?”, he replied calmly, “I confirmed that you had received it. Rented rooms for the staff are on the 2nd and 5th floors. I asked the staff. I even checked the IRS.”
When Lee Sang Wook said, “Isn’t it nice to see me?” Chun Jane got mad and said, “I’m not here to play, I’m here to work. But I didn’t say anything and suddenly… There are many things to pay attention to because of the filming.”
The two then continued their conversation while lying on the bed together. Chun Jane said, “I didn’t know how to react. I’ve seen many men chasing after me, but this is the first time a man followed me on a business trip.”
Lee Sang Wook said, “I came because I wanted to see you. Didn’t you say that it’s hard to be good at both a relationship and work? Don’t try to be good at both. Jane, just do what you want to do. If you’re busy, I’ll come to you.” Lee Sang Wook’s secret visit to Chun Jane’s dorm ended up being a sweet surprise event between the two.
Netizens are dissatisfied with the character’s behavior in this scene. They left comments such as “Isn’t he a stalker? It’s scary”, “This is a bit…”, “This is disgusting. He followed her during her work without saying anything like that”.
Meanwhile, “Behind Every Star”, based on the French drama of the same name, is drawing attention with its luxurious cast. After recording a rating of 3.7% (according to Nielsen Korea) on its first episode on November 7th, the drama’s ratings continued to decline, and on the November 22nd broadcast, it reached its own lowest rating of 2.9%.
