“7 Escape” unveils mugshots of goosebumps-inducing villains

“7 Escape” opens the door to a more intense and unconventional “Kim Soon Ok World”.

SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “7 Escape” (directed by Joo Dong Min, written by Kim Soon Ok, produced by Chorokbaem Media, Studio S), which is scheduled to premiere at 10 PM on September 15th, depicts the story of seven people involved in the case of a missing girl, who face huge events intertwined with many lies and desires. The drama will also depict the journey of searching for the truth as well as the bloody revenge that resembles divine punishment.

Renowned writer Kim Soon Ok, known for her successes with “The Last Empress” and the “Penthouse” series, is expected to create another sensation with this revenge drama, exploring a new world of Korean revenge dramas. The cast, featuring exceptional actors like Um Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yu Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee and Jo Jae Yoon, has generated immense anticipation for their portrayal of the formidable villains.

The recently released opening title video is visually striking, featuring individuals who seem captivated by something mysterious, with messages flowing through red threads leading to a hellish sculpture. The image of a hand clutching a bloodstained droplet-covered hat is particularly meaningful, as it shatters everything when squeezed in anger.

The drama introduces 7 villains, each with their unique flaws and desires, including “the embodiment of greed” Geum Ra Hee (played by Hwang Jung Eum), “the star with a hidden lie” Han Mo Ne (played by Lee Yu Bi) and Min Do Hyeok (played by Lee Joon) engulfed in flames. Other intriguing villains include Yang Jin Mo (played by Yoon Jong Hoon), Cha Ju Ran (played by Shin Eun Kyung), high school teacher Go Myung Ji (played by Jo Yoon Hee), detective Nam Cheol Woo (played by Jo Jae Yoon) and entertainment company CEO Kang Ki Tak (played by Yoon Tae Young).

The mastermind behind gathering these selfish and ambitious villains is the “Condemner” Matthew Lee (played by Um Ki Joon). His appearance as he oversees the grand game board he designed is chilling. Viewers are left wondering what kind of hellish ordeal Matthew Lee has in store for these villains and whether they can escape the blood-soaked retribution that awaits them. The drama is expected to showcase a unique and suspenseful tale of the seven individuals’ strange alliance to survive and the mind-bending twists of “Kim Soon Ok-style” revenge dramas.

Furthermore, a mugshot shorts video featuring 7 villains with their respective sins, such as “Greed and Immorality” for Geum Ra Hee and “Arrogance and Betrayal” for Min Do Hyeok, has sparked curiosity about their crimes and the impending vengeance by Matthew Lee. The drama promises to deliver an intriguing narrative about the seven sins revealed by the villains’ desires and the bloodthirsty retribution imposed by the “Condemner” Matthew Lee. Viewers are eagerly anticipating how this “Kim Soon Ok-style” revenge drama will unfold.
