Here are some standout romance K-dramas set to be released in the final month of 2023
My Man is Cupid
First up is “My Man is Cupid” starring Jang Dong Yoon, Park Ki Woong, and Nana. Jang Dong Yoon takes on the role of Cheon Sang Hyuk, a cupid. 500 years ago, Cheon Sang Hyuk’s wings got scorched. To patch them up, he’s gone through 27 transformations. It’s on the 28th try that he crosses paths with Baek Ryun (Nana).
Baek Ryun is a charming veterinarian. Any guy romantically linked with her is destined for death. Because of this, Baek Ryun avoids dating. But deep down, she’s still on the lookout for the man of her dreams.
“My Man is Cupid” airs every Friday and Saturday on Amazon Prime, kicking off on December 1st.
Welcome to Samdalri
Next on the list is “Welcome to Samdalri,” featuring Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun.
Ji Chang Wook plays Cho Yong Pil, a weather forecaster. Back when Cho Yong Pil was little, he lost his mom due to a faulty weather forecast. So now, he doesn’t let any piece of information slide, no matter how small, and is always ready to argue with his boss. At the office, he’s the troublemaker.
Shin Hye Sun is Jo Sam Dal, Cho Yong Pil’s childhood friend. With big dreams, she left her hometown for Seoul. Jo Sam Dal struggled for years as a fashion photography assistant. But everything she built crumbles in an instant, leading her back to Samdalri.
Despite a past incident creating distance between Cho Yong Pil and Jo Sam Dal, their feelings resurface when she makes a return.
“Welcome to Samdalri” airs every Saturday and Sunday on JTBC, starting December 2nd.
Soundtrack #2
Lastly, we’ve got “Soundtrack #2”, the new season following the hit “Soundtrack #1” led by Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee last year. This time around, Lee Eun Soo and Han Sun Woo won’t be making a comeback. Instead, we’ll be introduced to a fresh love story between Do Hyun Seo and Ji Soo Ho.
They first crossed paths in university, both part of a band. Do Hyun Seo was the main vocalist, and Ji Soo Ho played the keyboard. Their souls synced up over their shared love for music, leading to a romantic relationship. But this love story took a sad turn.
Fast forward four years, Do Hyun Seo has tossed aside her dreams and is now a temporary piano teacher. Meanwhile, Ji Soo Ho has become a CEO. Fate brings Do Hyun Seo and Ji Soo Ho together once more. Can they reignite the flame of their past love?
The main couple of “Soundtrack #2” is played by Steve Noh and Geum Sae Rok.
