Yoon Ji Sung reveals sad childhood stories & receives Mom’s apology, “Mom looked very violent when she threw the phone at me”
Singer Yoon Ji Sung and his mother confessed their hearts and apologized to each other.
In episode 9 of ENA’s “Hyoja Village 2”, which aired on June 19th, Yoon Ji Sung and his mother opened up about the feelings that they had been holding back for a long time.
Yoon Ji Sung and his mother spent time with Kim Dong Hyun’s mother while Kim Dong Hyun was away. When Kim Dong Hyun’s mother confessed, “I can’t tell my son my sad stories and inner thoughts”, Yoon Ji Sung’s mother explained, “If you keep these words in your heart for a long time, you would explode one day and even your own child will end up fighting with you.”
Kim Dong Hyun’s mother continued, “I raised my children too strictly as if they were soldiers. One day, I began to reflect on myself and apologized to them”. Hearing that, Yoon Ji Sung said, “That could be better. In fact, from the perspective of a child, they might have felt resentful towards you but they really wanted to hear words like ‘I’m sorry’.”
He also shared, “Now that I’ve grown up, I understand my mom better, but sometimes I still want to receive an apology. I couldn’t tell my mom about that so I ended up confessing it to my younger sibling. If I mentioned it, mom would scold me.” Yoon Ji Sung’s mother added, “I even asked if they want to be punished and asked them where they wanted to get hit, on the hand or on their butt. They would agree to be hit immediately to overcome it quickly”.
Yoon Ji Sung said, “Mom looked very violent when she threw the phone at us”. Yoon Ji Sung’s mother said that she had never thrown a phone, but Yoon Ji Sung expressed he understood her even when she couldn’t remember it but he hoped to receive an apology when revealing his painful memories. Yoon Ji Sung added, “The reason I can maintain a relationship with Mom is that I acted like, ‘Do whatever you want, Mom’. Because I could adjust to her actions.”
Returning home, Yoon Ji Sung and his mother continued their conversation. Yoon Ji Sung asked his mom to say something warm to him at least once and his mother began to confess her inner feelings and the hardships she endured alone when raising her children, which led to her violent actions. As his mother shed tears, Yoon Ji Sung held her hand and comforted her. Yoon Ji Sung’s mother then conveyed her sincere apology for the first time. Separating themselves from each other for a moment, both of them burst into tears.
