K-pop girl group IVE is currently facing unexpected challenges in ticket sales for their second world tour, Show What I Am, raising questions about their global market power despite dominating the 4th generation scene.
Show What I Am marks a major step in IVE’s career, following the success of their first tour Show What I Have. The tour kicked off in Seoul in October 2025 with sold-out shows, reaffirming their strong domestic popularity.

In Korea and across Asia, IVE remains a top-tier group, backed by hit songs and massive brand recognition. However, the situation looks different overseas. Reports and seating charts circulating online suggest that several stops in North America and Oceania including Newark, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Auckland are struggling to fill venues with capacities ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 seats.
IVE’s situation highlights a common challenge in K-pop: popularity does not always translate into ticket sales internationally. Several factors contribute to this:
- Market saturation: North America has seen a surge of K-pop tours in recent years, giving fans more choices and making them more selective.
- High costs: Expensive tickets, travel, and accommodation can discourage attendance.
- Fandom gap: While IVE has strong digital performance and public recognition, their core fanbase in Western markets is still developing.

Groups like BLACKPINK, BTS, and TWICE have spent years building stable global fandoms something IVE is still in the process of achieving. Another key factor is venue size. IVE opted for relatively large arenas early in their global touring journey.
- If successful → major leap in global status
- If not → visible empty seats can impact public perception
This “high-risk, high-reward” strategy is now becoming a hot topic among fans and industry watchers. Despite current concerns, it’s important to note that the North American and Oceania legs won’t begin until July.

This gives IVE time to increase promotions, release additional content and engage international fans. Given their current popularity and momentum, improved ticket sales remain a realistic possibility. Beyond ticket sales, Show What I Am has been praised for its production quality:
- Nearly 3-hour setlist with 25+ songs
- Structured like a musical performance
- Solo stages for each member
- Live band enhancing the overall experience
These elements showcase IVE’s evolution from a “visual-driven” group to a performance-focused act with musical depth.

Since debuting in 2021, IVE has built an impressive track record with hits like LOVE DIVE, After LIKE, and I AM. Their signature “high-teen” concept and strong visuals helped them dominate charts and secure multiple Perfect All-Kills (PAKs), making them one of the leading groups of their generation.
In recent years, they’ve expanded musically with tracks like Baddie, Off The Record, and Heya, showing a willingness to experiment beyond their established formula.
