WINNER’s Song Mino successfully completes his first solo exhibition amid favorable reviews, “I want to be recognized for my paintings”
Song Mino held his first solo exhibition successfully.
From December 16th of last year to February 5th of this year, artist Ohnim’s (Song Mino) first solo exhibition, “Thanking You”, held at ‘Start FLEX’ in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, was successfully completed, receiving favorable reviews for his artistic senses without filtering. Koh Eun Kyung, CEO of Ohnim’s art management Kplus, said, “Starting with this exhibition, we are continuing to prepare good plans and exhibitions so that more K-art fans around the world can enjoy Song Mino’s works, so please look forward to it.”
Song Mino, who has shown off his outstanding talent as a rapper, producer, and entertainer as a member of WINNER, has been active in the art world through an art management contract with K-plus, a comprehensive media entertainment company. In particular, artist Ohnim has successfully completed three exhibitions, including the one held last October, and is receiving love calls from world art stages such as France and Germany.
Song Mino said, “The reason for separating under the artist name ‘Ohnim’ was clearly my desire to be recognized for my paintings. I am so happy that this is my first solo exhibition where I can show what I have worked hard on.”
In this individual exhibition, Song Mino showed a variety of works, including “Ohnim,” and a series of “Giraffe Paintings I Painted” which has attracted attention for their intense colors and distinct shapes.
Ohnim explained that his strong will for the goal he wanted to achieve was reflected in his works, saying, “It means that I cannot measure the height of my ambitions, greed, and things I want to achieve,” as most of the paintings express only a part of the upper part of the neck or the torso. Next, his will to repay the love received from fans stands out in the way he sincerely conveys the hidden meaning, “I used a lot of heart symbols because I have a job where I receive a lot of love and try to return that love.”
In addition, Ohnim drew attention by revealing a space of condolences and a sincere letter for his father who passed away last year. He expressed his affection for his father, saying, “I thought that my father must have been very lonely after his battle with the disease.”
On the other hand, regarding the reason for continuing the art work, “The work of painting serves as a vent when talent is piled up without erupting. I started it because I thought it would explode if I didn’t erupt. I will not turn off my desire to inspire and influence many people in art, music, and all fields.”
Ohnim’s (Song Mino) first solo exhibition, “Thanking You”, filled with sensuous colors and symbolic meanings, was successfully completed with enthusiastic responses from various audiences, especially Gen Z audiences. Starting with this exhibition, which became the starting point for Song Mino’s next chapter as Ohnim, attention is focused on Ohnim’s future artist activities.
