Singer Hwasa’s performance at a university festival is causing controversy among netizens.
On May 12th, Hwasa attended the Sungkyunkwan University Humanities & Social Sciences Campus Festival as a member of “Dancing Queens on the Road” along with Lee Hyori and Kim Wan Sun. Afterwards, fancams of Hwasa’s performance were uploaded on YouTube, Twitter and various online communities.
“Dancing Queens on the Road” (directed by PD Kim Tae Ho) is a program of nationwide concert tour with the nation’s top female artists Kim Wan Sun, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori, BoA and Hwasa traveling around the country, meeting various fans and having fun together. It is scheduled to air for the first time on May 25th.
The scene that sparked controversy among netizens is the part where Hwasa made a gesture of licking her hand with her tongue then put her hand on a specific body part during the performance. Everyone who saw this scene at the time cheered, but some netizens pointed out that “the performance was excessive”.
Netizens showed various reactions such as “It’s a university festival with adults anyway, so what’s the problem?“, “‘Dancing Queens on the Road’ is a 15-rated show, so it seems that they’ll edit this scene“, “She doesn’t have to do it“…
