“Wannabe Stars” Suffering From Fake Rumors: “X-File” Han Ye-seul & “Sojang” Jang Won-young

Han Ye-seul shared various talks with Lee So-ra in the video content uploaded on the YouTube channel “Supermarket Sora” on January 24th.

In the video, Han Ye-seul mentioned the so-called “Entertainment Industry X-File” rumor that spread online in 2005. Known as drafts by advertising agencies to prevent risks for star marketing, this document is said to contain the personal information of stars.

In particular, there was a claim that Han Ye-seul was involved in adult entertainment in the Korean town of LA. However, the actress already released an explanation on her YouTube, clarifying that it was not true.

Han Ye-seul said, “My life didn’t go the way I thought it would. I had been working restlessly in Korea and as soon as I became famous, rumors also arose. I saw my name in the rumor without knowing what it was. I was surrounded by all kinds of rumors. It hurt me a lot when people close to me asked me as if they did not believe me.”

IVE’s Jang Won-young also suffered malicious rumors for a long time ever since her debut. Her company Starship recently sued Park, the person who owned the YouTube channel Sojang and made up fake rumors about the female idol

“Cyber wrecker” YouTuber Sojang was controversial because they created malicious content and spread false information targeting famous figures, including idols, entertainers, politicians, and athletes. This YouTube channel was a source of fake news causing damage to many celebrities.

Due to those false facts, Jang Won-young, the center member of IVE and one of the hottest female idols recently, received so many hateful comments. As a result, Starship has filed civil and criminal lawsuits against Sojang since November 2022, both in Korea and overseas, after monitoring Sojang’s activities. The Seoul Central District Court recently ruled in favor of Jang Won-young and Starship as Sojang’s side did not respond.
