Actress Song Ji Hyo’s former agency Uzurocks Entertainment (Uzurocks) failed to keep their promise again. For 3 months, they have repeatedly promised to “pay the settlement money soon”, but have not done it yet.
According to Song Ji Hyo‘s legal representative, Uzurocks said they would pay the settlement money on June 25th. However, on June 23rd, an official from Uzurocks told TV Report, “June 25th is Sunday. We understand that Song Ji Hyo was informed through the lawyer that we would pay the settlement money on June 26th.“
However, according to TV Report on June 27th, Uzurocks did not pay Song Ji Hyo the settlement money even on June 26th.
On June 13th, Uzurocks announced through their official position that they would organize everything by June 30th. Uzurocks explained, “We are currently making various efforts to improve corporate management stability by improving the profit structure and reducing costs. Regarding overseas investment, everything will be normalized quickly as we enter the final stage.“
The settlement money that Song Ji Hyo should receive from Uzurocks is 984 million won. Since late April, Uzurocks has repeatedly broken their promise to pay Song Ji Hyo’s settlement money.
On April 25th, Song Ji Hyo’s side expressed frustration when mentioning Song Ji Hyo’s decision to terminate her contract with Uzurocks. Song Ji Hyo’s side appealed, “How tough must it have been for her to make such a decision after 20 years of acting career? This is the first time such a situation has happened. We can’t explain the details, but Song Ji Hyo made a decision after enduring so much.“
Uzurocks delayed payment of wages for not only Song Ji Hyo but also many employees. On June 13th, a number of employees belonging to Uzurocks reported Uzurocks to the Ministry of Employment and Labor for overdue wages. It is known that the wages that employees have not received are several months’ worth.
