On December 30th, OSEN reported that Ji Suk-jin will be absent from the ‘2023 SBS Entertainment Awards’ held at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam.
Earlier, Ji Suk-jin‘s agency, said on December 18th, “Due to the recommendation for treatment after a health checkup, Ji Suk-jin will temporarily take a break from filming ‘Running Man’ starting from today.”
They continued, “We will make the best efforts to take a short rest, reorganize his health, and return in a healthier appearance as soon as possible. Thank you for always supporting and loving Ji Suk-jin.“
Ji Suk-jin has been active on ‘Running Man’ since July 2010, contributing for 13 years. This marks his first challenge in outdoor variety shows since his debut, and he achieved good results.
Previously, ‘Running Man’ underwent member changes with the recent departure of Jeon So-min. With Ji Suk-jin also expressing his intention for a temporary break, attention is focused on the future direction of the show.
Meanwhile, Ji Suk-jin made his broadcasting debut in 1992. In 1993, he gained recognition as a KBS 10th class special recruit comedian.
From KBS2’s entertainment program ‘Star Golden Bell’ to SBS’s ‘Running Man,’ he captivated the hearts of audiences from the youth to the middle-aged.
On October 31, 1999, he married his current wife, a stylist at the time, Jung Sun-hee. Ji Suk-jin’s wife was a stylist for Jung Sun-hee. They were introduced by Yoo Jae-suk.
