Tragic Story of a 50s BTS Fan Caring for her Ill Sibling in the Basement, Amidst Abundance of BTS Goods

A woman in her 50s known as a fan of BTS, sadly passed away.

On August 22nd, antique organizer Kim Saebyeol mentioned on the online channel ‘JamBang TV,’ “One of the most regrettable situations recently was a brother and sister who lived in a basement room. They were of a certain age.”

According to Kim, among the siblings living in the basement room, the younger brother had a rare disease, and the older sister worked and paid for his medical expenses. The difficult life continued, and unable to endure, the siblings committed suicide, ending their lives at the same time. Their bodies, unnoticed by anyone, were discovered 7 months after their passing.

Kim said, “The bodies left unattended had absorbed moisture, and the room was filled with water.” She added, “Even though the monthly rent had already been deducted from the security deposit, the landlord, considering the difficult times, hesitated to talk about such matters, fearing it would be harder for them to receive money. Due to this consideration, their discovery was delayed, and their story reached the world late.”

Kim continued, “The older sister was a BTS fan. She was over 50 years old and had collected many photos of BTS. She had so many BTS goods. There were several boxes.”

She continued, “At first, I thought it would have been nice if they had used this money to enjoy good food. But as the organizing was coming to an end, I realized, ‘Ah, this person found strength in the merchandise of the idol group she liked. She leaned on it for strength and determination in life.’”

On the other hand, Kim expressed, “I hope stories of people who couldn’t receive proper medical treatment due to inadequate health insurance and passed away become known to the world, so that such situations don’t occur anymore. But realistically, it’s not easy, which is regrettable,” expressing bitterness in the sad reality.
