May 6 is the 4th death anniversary of a girl group member, who passed away suspiciously 2 months after her marriage

It has been 4 years since the late idol-actress Han Ji Sung passed away in a tragic accident.

On May 6th, 2019, the late Han Ji Sung got hit by a taxi and an SUV after getting out of a car that stopped near Gimpo Airport IC in the direction of Seoul on the Incheon International Airport Expressway. She eventually passed away at the age of 28.

In particular, Han Ji Sung got married on March 9th, two months prior to the accident. As a result, suspicions related to the accident were raised.

According to the police investigation at that time, Han Ji Sung turned on the emergency lights and parked the car on the second lane of the highway as her husband urgently needed to use the restroom. However, the reason why Han Ji Sung got out of the car was not revealed, and her husband also stated that he did not know why she parked the car in the middle of the second lane, instead of the shoulder of the road.

Amid mounting suspicions, a black box video capturing the accident scene was released. In the video, a person who appears to be Han Ji Sung’s husband ran towards the guardrail from the car parked on the second land, while someone presumed to be Han Ji Sung was seen bending over behind the car.

Later, Han Ji Sung’s husband stated that he was drunk on the day of the accident, but he did not know whether Han Ji Sung had also been drinking or not. According to the autopsy, Han Ji Sung’s death was confirmed to be caused by multiple injuries, and her blood alcohol level at the time was over 0.08%, which is the level for license revocation. Her husband, who was a lawyer, was charged with aiding and abetting drunk driving but was not prosecuted.

The news of Han Ji Sung’s death saddened all her colleagues in the entertainment industry. Lee Si Kang said, “She was a great actress who always looked bright and worked hard. This is so sad and unfair”. Meanwhile, Choi Gyu Ri shared, “I wish everything was a dream”.

Han Ji Sung made her debut in the four-member girl group B.Dolls in 2010. Later, she turned to acting and starred in dramas, such as “Second to Last Love” and “Happy Sisters”.
