NewJeans, the new girl group that has debuted for only one month, won their 4th music show No.1 on Inkigayo.
On the August 21st broadcast of SBS’s “Inkigayo”, NewJeans’s “Attention”, ITZY’s “SNEAKERS”, and Girls’ Generation’s “FOREVER1” were nominated for No.1 in the 3rd week of August.
The No.1 trophy eventually went to NewJeans. Although Girls’ Generation prevailed in SNS and real-time voting scores, NewJeans boasted overwhelming gaps in physical and online digital scores.
Giving their acceptance speech, NewJeans members said, “We would like to thank CEO Min Hee-jin and everyone in our company. We want to thank our staff, who always take care of us, and our parents, who always support us. To the producers and our fans, thank you so much. We will always work hard, so please keep looking forward to us.”
NewJeans debuted with their first mini album “New Jeans” on the 22nd of last month. They have so far received 4 trophies on music shows, including Mnet ‘M Countdown’, KBS2 ‘Music Bank’, ‘Show! Music Core’, SBS ‘Inkigayo’.
On this day’s broadcast, Golden Child, THE BOYZ, Luminous, LUCY, Park Boram, BAE173, Soohyun (U-Kiss), ATBO, YOUNITE, Lee Sojung, CSR, YENA (Choi Yena), CRAXY, TRI.BE, and PURPLE KISS appeared on the stage.
