On May 5, JYP Entertainment released an official statement confirming that Yeji recently visited a hospital due to back pain. Following a thorough examination, she was diagnosed with a herniated disc and advised by medical professionals to minimize movements that could strain her lower back.
As a result, Yeji’s participation in performances during ITZY’s upcoming concerts in Japan on May 9 and 10 will be partially limited, particularly in choreography and physically demanding stages.

Despite the diagnosis, the agency emphasized Yeji’s strong determination to meet fans. They stated that she will participate in performances within a manageable range, balancing her health condition with her commitment to the stage.
The agency also issued an apology to fans, acknowledging concerns caused by the sudden news and asking for understanding as Yeji prioritizes her recovery.
ITZY is set to return on May 18 with their 12th mini album “Motto,” featuring a total of 8 tracks, including the title track and unit solo songs first revealed during their third world tour “TUNNEL VISION.”
While the comeback remains on schedule, fans are now expressing both anticipation and concern, hoping for Yeji’s full recovery as she prepares to take the stage again.
