A famous U.S. franchise company changed its name to how BTS Jungkook pronounces it.
On Jan 23rd, a video titled “Lunch Time with Chipotle” was uploaded on the official YouTube channel “BangtanTV” of BTS.
Jungkook seems unfamiliar with the food in the video. “How do you eat this? Chicotle? Chicotle?” he asked. J-Hope, who was next to him, replied, “I heard chocolate at first. Chocolate. You were saying chocolate?”
The pronunciation that Jungkook and J-Hope misheard is Chipotle.
Chipotle refers to the smoked and dried jalapeno, an ingredient mainly used in Mexican cuisine, but it is also the name of a fast-food franchise.
Upon hearing the news of Jungkook‘s cute mistake, Chipotle changed its account name to “Chicotle” and even retweeted a tweet on its official Twitter account, saying, “If Jungkook said it’s Chicotle then it’s Chicotle.”
Chipotle is a Mexican fast-food franchise specializing in burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the U.S., it operates more than 1700 stores across the U.S.
Netizens responded in various ways, such as “BTS has such great influence,” “Everyone is so cute,” and “If Jungkook says so, it’s Chicotle from now.”
