Actresses Song Hye Kyo and Lim Ji Yeon said their faces turned red after performing intense action scenes.
At 11 a.m. on December 20th, the press conference for Netflix’s original series “The Glory” was held at JW Marriott Hotel Dongdaemun, Jongno0gu, Seoul. Writer Kim Eun Sook, director Ahn Gil Ho, actors Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Lim Ji Yeon, Yeom Hye Ran, Park Sung Hoon, and Jung Sung Il attended the event.
“The Glory” depicts the desperate revenge that a woman, whose soul was broken after suffering violence during her childhood, has spent her whole life preparing. Song Hye Kyo appears as Moon Dong Eun, who designed revenge against the school bullies, while Lim Ji Yeon plays the role of the school violence perpetrator Park Yeon Jin.
Lim Ji Yeon chose the scene where Dong Eun and Yeon Ji reunite at the gym as her most memorable scene in “The Glory”. She explained, “Personally, I was really worried when playing Yeon Jin in this scene. It was such a hard scene, and I kept wondering what it would be like to meet the kid I bullied after a few years”.
She continued, “At the set, the director told me to slap her really hard and filmed the scene only once. I really thought that I had to complete it at once, so I gave her a hard slap, and her face got swollen”, revealing a behind-the-scenes story.
Song Hye Kyo added, “I’ve been acting for a long time, but it was the first time I received a real slap. It was the same for Ji Yeon. As soon as she slapped me, my head went blank and I couldn’t remember the next lines”.
The actress explained, “We took a break and I looked that the mirror. We both had palm prints on our cheeks. We couldn’t proceed with the filming right away. I took the next cut after cooling down my skin with an ice pack.”
Meanwhile, Netflix series “The Glory” will premiere on December 30th.
