Theater Actress Confirmed Brain Dead After Collapsing During Practice, Giving Lives To Others Through Organ Donation
Theater actress Joo Seon-ok practiced good deeds through organ donation even after suddenly passing away during practice
Joo Seon-ok collapsed during theater practice on April 4th and was taken to hospital. After being diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and failing to regain consciousness, she was confirmed brain dead at Seoul Asan Medical Center.
The bereaved family said, “Although we are very devastated by the brain-dead diagnosis of our daughter who was still healthy on the 5th, we agreed to donate her organs according to the will of the deceased, who did good deeds regularly and positively considered organ donation”.
After receiving the bereaved family’s consent, the deceased’s heart and lungs were donated to a male patient, while her liver and both kidneys were donated to a female patient. Surgeries have already been carried out and there’s still a corneal transplant surgery ahead.
Seeing Joo Seon-ok doing good deeds until the very end, her acquaintances couldn’t help but recall her cheerful personality and generosity when she was alive.
Meanwhile, Joo Seon-ok was born in 1986 and was active as a theater actress in various plays. She passed away ahead of a Christian film shoot.
