“The Roundup: No Way Out” Lee Joon Hyuk “I gained 19kg, my liver index increased”

Actor Lee Joon Hyuk revealed the process of gaining weight for his role in the movie “The Roundup: No Way Out”.

On May 4th, a video titled “Isn’t this enough to fight Ma Seok Do? Self-profile of actor Lee Joon Hyuk, who returned as the best villain in ‘The Roundup: No Way Out’” was uploaded on Allure Korea’s YouTube channel.

Lee Joon Hyuk said, “I think ‘The Roundup: No Way Out’ is the first time I’ve played an extreme villain. Joo Seong Cheol is a sensitive bison. I created Joo Seong Cheol by imagining the image of a bison. He’s the most confident character I’ve ever played. I’ve never played someone that confident. He’s full of self-love, confidence and luck.

He explained, “I ate a lot of chicken breast and tomatoes during bulk-up. I had the purpose of gaining a lot of weight for ‘The Roundup: No Way Out’, so I ate foods I like, such as hamburgers and chicken.

Regarding the reason for gaining weight, Lee Joon Hyuk confessed, “I gained weight so that it would hurt less when I was hit by Ma Seok Do. I gained about 19kg. I personally liked it. It seems like something I haven’t shown before has come out. I thought, ‘Wouldn’t that be worth fighting for?’

Lee Joon Hyuk added, “In fact, my liver index increased after I gained weight, and my health seems to be getting worse. I overworked my body, so I’m thinking about protecting it.

Meanwhile, “The Roundup: No Way Out” depicts the story of detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) joining the Metropolitan Investigation Team led by Jang Tae Soo (Lee Beom Soo) to eradicate Joo Seong Cheol (Lee Joon Hyuk), the son of a rich business family who forms an alliance with some Japanese gangsters to commit heinous crimes across Korea. It will be released on May 31st.
